LPN Job Growth

The current global health crisis has presented the healthcare industry with almost unprecedented challenges. The need for well-trained and licensed nursing professionals has never been greater. Healthcare is one of the most rapidly growing fields in the world today. Although the pandemic has augmented the dire need for healthcare providers in virtually every professional capacity, the demand for medical, and particularly, nursing professionals has steadily increased in the past several decades.

Since the mid- twentieth century, medical advancements and a greater understanding of better hygienic practices and nutrition have resulted in overall lower infant mortality rates and longer average life spans. In other words, there are more people in the world and they are living longer. The need for qualified healthcare professionals to serve this rapidly growing, and aging population has skyrocketed. Qualified nursing personnel are especially needed in the field of geriatric care. LPNs provide daily care to residents at nursing homes and to patients in long term care facilities, a considerable number of whom are older adults. Many LPNs are also needed to provide care to homebound seniors. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of LPN positions is expected to grow 11 percent through 2028.

AMG School of Nursing graduates can expect to be fully equipped with the essential practical skills they will need to become exemplary LPNs within the many different branches of the healthcare industry.
